Principal's Welcome Back Letter

Dear Brackendale Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Brackendale!

We are all looking forward to reconnecting and welcoming both our new and return students back to school.  During the first week of school we will practice routines, make new friends, rekindle past friendships, and set goals for the year. Here is some key information that will help you and your family get ready for the first day of school.

  • Enrolment: Anyone whose plans have changed and their children are no longer attending our school (i.e. you may have moved, opted for home schooling, online school, or private education), please contact Ms. Frizzle at the school office as soon as possible: [email protected] or 604-898-3651.
  • Welcome Ceremony: Everyone, (including our new Kindergarten children and their families), is invited to attend our traditional welcome ceremony on Tuesday, September 7th at 8:45am to approximately 9:15am. Meet on the upper soccer field and please respect others’ personal space.
  • School Welcome Video: If you are unable to join us for the Welcome Ceremony, please watch our new school welcome video here.
  • Grade 1 through 6 - First Day of School: Tuesday, September 7th from 8:45am-10:00am.
  • Kindergarten Gradual Entry: Please see communication previously sent to you for your pre-arranged times.
  • School Hours: 8:45am Morning Bell and 3:00pm Dismissal
  • School Supplies: All you need to know about school supplies is on our website. Click Here.
  • 2021-2022 New Class Assignments: On Friday, September 10th, Grade 1-Grade 6 students will move into their new school year classes! This is always an exciting day.
  • New COVID-19 Protocols: Superintendent of Schools, Lisa McCullough sent a welomce letter to all families outlining the year ahead and current COVID-19 measures for schools. See here for details.  All schools will be creating new Communicable Disease Plans to align with the K-12 response plan which can be found here.

Once everyone has settled into their classes, we encourage all families to make a point of talking to your child about their learning daily.  They will have so much to share.  Communication between home and school is key to student success.  Our teachers will provide you with learning highlights each week to enrich your conversations with your children at home.

Best regards and happy September!

Ms. Saenger
