Sep 8th, 2023- Welcome Back!

aDear Brackendale Families,

 

Welcome to a new school year at Brackendale Elementary.  The staff and I would like to welcome returning students and their families.  We also wish to extend a special welcome to new Kindergarten students and to those new students and their families attending Brackendale for the first time.

 

Our opening day traditional welcome ceremony was well attended by families and community members.  We thank you for standing with us as we recognize the importance of land, culture and community. 

 

The first few weeks can be very exciting and challenging for your child as they learn new routines and build back their stamina for a full day of learn.  Please pack your child a healthy, hearty snack and lunch and encourage your child to get a little extra rest.  Children of all ages need plenty of sleep for learning and social development. 10 Tips for Good Sleep Habits are listed below.

 

Please help in the parking lot – be patient, drive carefully, do not park in the bus lane, use the drop off zone to “kiss and go”  and of course do this with a smile!

 

We are looking forward to another exciting year of learning.  Home-school communication is valued here at Brackendale Elementary.  Please connect with your classroom teacher who will happily make an appointment with you.

UPCOMING PAC MEETING INFORMATION

 

Brackendale Parent Advisory Committee Meeting (PAC)

Tuesday, September 12th, 2023

6:30 - 8:30pm in the School Library

Complimentary childminding is available

All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend

This year, meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of every month

 

We will be reviewing the school calendar and upcoming PAC sponsored events, as well as discussing extra curricular activity ideas for the kids. Come and learn more about what's in store for this year!

We are always looking for additional volunteers for various events, activities, hot lunch, lost & found and more. If you are interested in being added to our volunteer list, please email [email protected]

COME VOLUNTEER IN OUR SCHOOL!
 
If you'd like to volunteer this year in your child's classroom, on fieldtrips or at the various fun-filled events throughout the year, please fill out an online Criminal Record Check. It usually takes a week or two to come through.
